SFM Fall 2018 Welcome

Greetings from South Florida Music!

We are pleased to welcome you back to our third year of classes. Our fall semester is off to a strong start, with 35 classes to share music with the families of South Florida. Do you know of someone who could benefit from our program? We know that you, the parents, serve as our greatest advocates. Would you kindly invite them to visit the SFM Schedule page so they can see our current availability? We would love to have them part of our SFM Family.

Along with our weekly classes, our 2019 Disney Performance group has begun rehearsals for their upcoming concert in Orlando, FL.  This group of 27 young musicians is preparing to take the Disney Springs Waterfront Stage at 11:00 am on January 4, 2019, where they will present 24 minutes of music. We are so proud of these musicians and their families for dedicating the needed time and effort to this life changing event!

Can’t make it to Orlando in January? Some of our current and alumni musicians from South Florida Music will participate in the Friends of South Florida Music 2nd Annual Alumni Benefit Recitals on Saturday, November 3 at the Fish House and Sunday, November 4 at Christ Congregational Church. Another opportunity to see our SFM piano students perform is at the Miami ZooLights event at Zoo Miami on Saturday, December 15th. Come out and enjoy an evening of family friendly holiday music and lights!

Friends of South Florida Music will also be participating in Give Miami Day on November 15, 2018. All donations are tax deductible. More information regarding minute matches and bonus gifts will be communicated on the Friends of SFM Facebook and Instagram. Please help us to provide the gift of music to underserved populations in our community and visit givemiamiday.org on November 15 for additional information.

While our fall semester has just begun, your South Florida Music staff is hard at work planning for our spring semester and events, including performing on January 12, 2019 at the Miami Heat game and our annual Spring Benefit Concert, scheduled for April 28, 2019. We look forward to sharing another wonderful year of music and learning with you and your children!

Musically Yours,

The South Florida Music Staff
